Leadership of commercial motorcyclists otherwise known as Okada riders under the umbrella of the Motorcycle Transport Union of Nigeria (MTUN) in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) says it would partner with the security agencies in Gwagwalada, especially the Nigeria Police Force, so as to protect the lives of the Okada riders.
Chairman of MTUN in Gwagwalada, Mallam Abbas Isyaku, alao appealed to Okada riders to deem it necessary to purchase approved security jackets for the purpose of their safety.
He spoke in the wake of election of 12 executive officers to pilot their affairs in the area.
Speaking to newsmen, he charged the new officials to cooperate with him, in order to move the union forward.
Isyaku assured that his leadership would carry the Okada riders along in the affairs of things.
He equally urged them to always discharge their passengers where people are transacting businesses.
The Gwagwalada MTUN Chairman, however, thanked the administration of Gwagwalada Area Council for the co-operation and support accorded to Okada riders to operate successfully in the area.
