Yobe State Governor, Alh. Ibrahim Gaidam has assured to approve contract for full electrification and provision of water supply facility to ensure that the newly renovated and expanded government secondary, Nangere in Nangere local government area of the state gets all what is required to function very well and for the well-being of both students and teachers in the school.
He gave the assurance yesterday when he inspected the school which costs the state government the total sum of N490.1 million, and called on the teachers to reciprocate by ensuring that the students are taught adequately.
He also assured that renovation and expansion of about 5 more of such secondary schools is in the pipeline, pointing out that improving the schools is part of his administration strategy to bring the sector to where it supposes to be before the end of his tenure.
Responding to the request made by the state Commissioner for Education, Mohammed Lamin for more laboratory equipment to augment the ones already procured, he asked the commissioner to submit the request as soon as possible promising to give approval for the procurement of the needed equipment.
The principal of the school, Mohammed Wakil, who spoke to our reporter at the premises of the school expressed appreciation for the renovation, expansion and supply of laboratory equipment, furnishing of the school, saying the school leadership would ensure that the teachers reciprocate government gesture by hard work and dedication to ensure proper teaching and learning in the school.
