Yobe state Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, has commended the contractors handling various projects in the state, saying they are giving his government value for the money spent on them and promised to continue to give recognition to such committed contractors in the state.
The projects inspected includes the on-going renovation and remodeling of the presidential lodge, road networks into the lodge, in the state commissioners quarters, and that into the science medical college in the state university, all in Damaturu, the state capital.
Speaking while inspecting the work at the presidential lodge, awarded at the cost of N94.3 million, the governor stated that the project was awarded in order to provide a befitting lodging accommodation for top influential dignitaries visiting the state, including the president, where their comfort and security would be assured.
He assured that as soon as the work is completed, the lodge would be properly furnished with interlocking landscaping to beautify the premises.
Other projects inspected includes the road networks to and inside the state presidential lodge, the commissioners quarters awarded at the total cost of N735.5 million, road network into the medical college within the state university covering a distance of 1.6 kilometer with 3.2 kilometer drainage system which was awarded at the cost of N238.4 million.
In all the places visited, the governor expressed appreciation for the work already done by the contractors and commended them, including the supervising ministries of housing, works and health, saying they have collectively assured the government, value for the money spent on the projects.
