The youth wing of the Gbagyi Development Union (GDU) in Kaduna hasfiled a motion in the Kaduna state High Court seeking an order ofinterlocutory injunction restraining Kaduna Refining and PetrochemicalCompany Limited (KRPC), its agents, privies, servants and all thosewho have responsibility to take action from screening or furtherscreening or appointing or going ahead with the process of appointingAmos Isahas the Community Liaison Officer (CLO).
The other plaintiffs in the matter are Bawa Marcus, BulusAkila andYarimaBabayaAudu.
In a 17-paragraph affidavit sworn to by M. K. Abdullah, Esq of Akika,Abashi, Okoye and Mann Chambers, the youths averred that the purportedremoval forms the subject matter of the substantive suit, that effortsare now being made to give effect to the purported letter written bythe first defendant, wherein the fifth defendant is to be appointedthe CLO as unilaterally decided by the first defendant.
Other defendants include Chief of Gbagyi Traditional Council, SaGbagyi I, the Secretary Gbagyi Traditional Council, Amos Isah, IbrahimWadason, Isah Ibrahim.
In the affidavit, they insisted that Bulus Samson is the CLO betweenGbagyi community and the KRPC.
They said Samson was recommended by the first defendant, Sa Gbagyi on theapproval of Gbagyi Development Union to the 6th defendant, KRPC, asthe CLO based on a well established convention following his unanimousnomination by the GYU andthe Gbagyi Youth Salvation Front (GYSF) after their merger.
That sometimes last year, another Gbagyi youth organization calledGbayi Youth Progressive Union under Amos Isah and Ibrahim Wadason,(chairman and secretary respectively) started agitation for Samson’sremoval to and replace him with one Ibrahim Isah.
The case has been slated for mention on April 7, 2014
