GEM3 to distribute 6,000 Certificate of Occupancies in Kano

A Non-governmental organisation (NGO) Growth and Employment in states (GEMS3) has announced the conclusion of arrangement towards the distribution of over 6,000 Certificates of Occupancy (C of Os) in Kano state.

The development was dropped yesterday in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital, by the newly appointed GEMS3 Regional Manager in-charge of Zamfara, Jigawa, Katsina and Kano, Mr. Kevin Conroy, when he paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Muhammad Kabir Danbaba.

Mr. Conroy informed that, the C of Os were conceived under the Systematic Land Titling and Registration (SLTR) stream of its intervention, adding that it was aimed at providing security and economic benefits to land administration in the states.

The Regional Manager, who enlisted for the support and cooperation of traditional rulers across the 17 emirates of Zamfara state to the activities of GEMS3 stressed that, “GEMS3 is aimed at providing improved business environment as well as to boost the crawling economy for the people especially women folk”.

Responding, the emir of Gusau, Alhaji Muhammad Kabir Danbaba, commended GEMS for its timely intervention on land and tax administration across the 14 local government areas of the state.

He reiterated the determination of his council to give all necessary support to the GEMS3 activities as its believed to be for the improvement of the state economy relied upon by the people.
