Gemade, Aondoakaa, Lawani, Hembe absent as party adopts direct primaries

Frontline Governorship aspirants under the All Progressives Congress, APC in Benue State Sen. Barnabas Gemade, House of Representative for Vandeikya/ Konshisha Constituency Herman Hembe, erstwhile Benue Deputy Goveernor Steve Lawani and former Attorney-General of the Federation Michael Aondoakaa were conspicuously absent at a stakeholders meeting.

It was learnt that the meeting which was convened by leader of the party and Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs Sen. George Akume held at City Bay, aimed at deciding the mode of primaries.

At the meeting, the party stalwarts agreed to adopt direct primaries in the forthcoming conference to elect flag bearers for various positions in the State.

Zonal Deputy chairman for Benue North East, Barr Vincent Uji moved the motion and was supported by Senator Jack Gyado, Chief Akange Audu of zone B and Alhaji Usman Abubakar of Benue South.

Speaking at the occasion, the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, noted that Benue people voted for APC at various elections in the state in 2019 but such were mismanaged by governor Samuel Ortom who is now in the PDP.

 According to him, Benue people are now in hunger, angry, poor at the moment and called on aspirants to redeem the people.
