At the forthcoming Leadtimes Africa magazine’s summit on good Governance in Leadership billed for University of Lagos later this month, Amb. (General) Godwin George Umo, the immediate past Nigerian ambassador to the Holy See(Vatican) will lead the pack of other distinguished Nigerians for honor.
General Umo, for his outstanding leadership and service to humanity both within and outside Nigeria will bag doctorate degree award of the Prowess University, Delaware USA in International Law and Diplomacy during the ceremony.
The theme of this year’s edition is titled:Enhancing Accelerated Capacity Building Through Entrepreneurship in governance and the guest lecturer is Professor Basil C. Nwankwo of Kogi state University.
According to the press statement credited to Professor Buba S. Mshelia, Advisory Board chairman of Leadtimes Africa magazine, “two universities including Prowess university, Delaware USA and Triune BIBLICAL University Global Extension New-York USA would confer honorary awards on deserving Nigerians for their exceptional leadership qualities and professionalism in service; Triune BIBLICAL University Global Extension New-York USA will use the occasion to present certificates of honour to its successful graduands and the Prowess University will confer upon the appointment as professorial chairs on four eminent Nigerians including Dr Abubakar Inuwa Tata, Executive chairman of Gombe state Internal Revenue service;Dr Bala Baba Ma’aji,North East Zonal Head of First City Monumental Bank;Dr Remi Olukoya, Lead Consultant/CEO of Pecksgrey Group and; Dr Alecander Utieyin-Scott, Managing Partner of Alex Scott and Partners.
Outstanding personalities nominated for honorary doctorate awards in this epic occasion incude the CEO of Signatures Ltd, Greg Cynthia, who will bag honour in Safety and Security management;Group Executive director of BrookHeritage Holdings,Femi Adebayo Olukotun listed for honorary doctorate award in Business Administration. The Managing Director of PRESCO PLC,Felix Onwuchekwa Nwabuko will be decorated with doctorate in Strategic Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Governance Strategy while the Managing Director of Dynamic Mayor Edge Nig Ltd, Olumayowa Olurishe, will bag honorary doctor in Business Administration; Sir Emmanuel Okere, CEO of Methods Consultants will bag honorary doctor in Human Development and Strategic Management as the CEO of Stand Out
Properties, Sir Bldr Blessing Obomovo will be conferred upon with honorary doctorate in Real Estate Development.
Other honorary doctorate awardees include the CEO of Lucky Bay Homes Nig Ltd, Ujomu Lucky Ikechukwu; Alhaji Ilu Auwal Ahmed, CEO of Ultimate Gas Ltd;the Vice president/CEO of Multi Chase Energy Services,Wole Yusuf;the CEO of Life Card International Investment Company, Grace Ofure Ibhakhomu and the Director of Malvin Meadow School, Chika Mgbamena,is expected to bag honor in Educational Leadership and Management, among others.
In a statement by Professor Prince Eze Nwauba, African Representative of
Prowess university, Delaware, USA/ Registrar/CEO of the Institute of Arts Management and Professional Studies, he stressed on the selection process:”the nomination process was strict and transparent and was anchored on the leadership qualities of the prospective nominees which is very key including the virtues of integrity, transparency and accountability;we also carried out research on the positive impacts made by the various nominees as well as recommendations made on them by their constituents”, the don stated.
Two first Ladies-Amb.(Dr) Mrs Gloria Diri of Bayelsa state and her Kwara state counterpart Amb.(Dr) Mrs Olufolake Abdulrazaq and other prominent Nigerians were honoured last year respectively.
