Nigeria’s U-17 male team, the Golden Eaglets Tuesday booked their passage into the semi-final of the ongoing 2021 WAFU U-17 tournament in Lome, Togo.
The Fatai Amoo led boys qualified for the semi-final after Ivory Coast defeated Ghana by 3-1 in the last Group B match played Tuesday evening.
Nigeria needed Ivory Coast to do them a favour by defeating Ghana at least by 2-0 margin which the Ivorians did on Tuesday.
Nigeria played two matches, lost one, and drew one against Ivory Coast and Ghana, respectively. However, they qualified ahead of Ghana on goal difference.
Ivory Coast and Nigeria are now through to the semi-final and have qualified for the 2021 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco
