Gombe Chief Judge swears- in new court judges

The Chief Judge in Gombe state, Justice Hakila Y. Heman has sworn-in eight Area Court judges and fifteen Area Court members, with a view to discharge their duty effectively.

While performing the function at the court chamber in Gombe yesterday,

the Chief Judge said their appointments by the Judicial Service Commission in September this year were sequel to the recent retirements and death of some Area Court judges and members.

He said four Upper Area Courts’ judges were also appointed, adding that the appointment of the judges was confined to only serving staff of the Judiciary.

The Chief Judge congratulated the new appointees for their well- deserved appointments as judges, urging them to be conversant with the provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He charged them to be dedicated to their duties, stressing that they should administer to people without fear or favour, affection or ill will, adding that as judicial officers they must uphold the aura and dignity of the court.

Speaking shortly, in an interview with newsmen, the state’s Commissioner for Justice, Barr. AbdulHameed Ibrahim expressed his confidence in the court and government.
