Gombe gov’t distributes subsidised fertiliser to farmers

The Gombe State gov has begin its distribution and sales of fertiliser to farmers for this year farming season.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya made this disclosure while flagging off the product in Gombe on Tuesday.
According to him, his administration remain committed to ensure that farmers within the state and environs benefit the gesture, adding that Agriculture also remains the bedrock of the economy that sustains livehod of 80percent of citizens.
He said government is working closely to checked the trends that threatened the reduction of farmlands from achieving massively in productivity through food security.
According to him, the government has taken the bold step of procuring and distributing heavily subsidized fertilizers, alongside other essential inputs, so that farmers can farm with confidence and hope for a decent return on their labour.
He added that in 2026 raining season, government has procured 12 thousand metric tons of fertiliser equivalent to 240 thousand bags of fertiliser at a cost of N64, 000per 50 kilogram per bag.
The Governor while calling on citizens to engaged themselves in this farming season, directed that each bag of fertiliser should be sold at the subsidized rate of N32, 000 only, stressing that government is expected the distributions and sales of the fertiliser to reach the door step of the Beneficiaries within two weeks.
