Gombe N-Power beneficiaries disagree with Goje over comment

Beneficiaries of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration N-Power programme in Gombe state yesterday disagreed with Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje over his call to scrap the Federal Government Social Investment Programme SIPs.
The beneficiaries who gathered in their numbers at the Education Resource Centre Gombe disagreed with the statement made by the
senator.
Goje who represents Gombe Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly called for the removal of N-Power Programme by the federal government saying the programme has nothing to show in Gombe state.
While refuting the alleged statement by the senator, the beneficiaries said his comments were not only untrue but are baseless.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, N-Power Ambassador in Gombe state, Muawiya Abdulhamid who was represented by Muhammad Wakili said based on record, no fewer than 2,900 people currently are benefiting from the N-Power initiative in Gombe state.
According to him, a total of 21,000 people applied for the second batch of the 2017 Programme, adding that a total of 8,251 people were preselected out of which 7,300 people were verified and send to the National office saying that if the 2018 is not approve the fate of this person will be uncertain.
Speaking further, he said record has shown that a total of 548 people were from Gombe central where Senator Goje represent at the the National Assembly 594 from Gombe South while 1,692 people are from Gombe North.
He revealed that out of the 446 beneficiaries came from Akko local government area, 30percent of the number are from Goje’s electoral ward adding that some Secondary Schools in Kashere are currently enjoying the SIPs schools feeding programme.
