The Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe state command Mr. Gyama Gyawiya met with religious leaders in Gombe state, inorder to promote mutual understanding between the security agencies and the communities.
Gyama while acknowledging the presence of the religious leaders, said the meeting was part of the duty of the NSCDC in the state, to monitor the activities of the religiousness bodies, trade unions, and other organizations regarding to Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Act Section 3 (G) (H) 2007.
He emphasized values and morals played through faith, urging the religious leaders to work together with the Security agencies in promoting peace in Gombe state and the nation at large.
The meeting was attended by religious leaders, including the Chairman of the Muslim Council of Gombe state, Khadi Usman Baba Liman (Rtd) and the representative of the Chairman of Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) Reverend Adams L. Adagi.
The leaders of the religious bodies pledged their support to collaborate with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other sister agencies to foster peace in the state.
According to the Commandant, the initiative demonstrates the NSCDC’s commitment to building partnerships with all stakeholders to promote peace and security by working together.
He added that, the NSCDC and religious leaders can help address security challenges and promote a safer, more harmonious community.
