Gombe: NSCDC raises alarm over increase in HIV

Authorities of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Gombe state command has raised an alarm on persistence increase of High Immune Virus (HIV) in Gombe state.
The state Commandant, Mr. Muhammad Bello Mua’zu made this known on Wednesday in Gombe while briefing Journalists on summary of its recovery at 2023.
He said persistence in the increase of HIV in the state is alarming, adding that just of recent, a group of youths in the state were arrested while engaging themselves in same sex marriage. “Later when investigation was carried out, we discovered some of them were HIV positive while others suffer form Hypertitise B”.
According to him, there is need for both the traditional and religious leaders to engaged themselves by ensuring that they advice the public to put an end to the ugly menace.
He called on the public to go for test inorder to know their status.
