GOSIEC sets to conduct LG elections December 19

Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission( GOSIEC) said arrangements have been concluded to conduct local government elections in the state.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner Alhaji Saidu Shehu Awak made the disclosure on Thursday, in Gombe, during a stakeholders meeting at the commission headquarters.
He apologized for not conducting elections in to local government councils due to economic problems of corona pandemic which according to him affect the world Nigeria inclusive.
Despite the challenges government is facing, governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has approved that the state Independent Electoral Commission should conduct elections in to 11 local government councils he said.
He said the state Independent Electoral Commission has fixed December 19, 2020 as the date of conduct of local government councils elections.
The Resident Electoral Commission who gave 90 days notice to all interested political parties who wish to participate in the local government councils should adhere strictly to the guidelines of the elections.
