Gov Alia nominates 6 new commissioners

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia on Tuesday submitted the names of six nominees to the Benue State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation as members of the State Executive Council.

The nominees comprises of persons proposed to replace outgoing members of the council as well as new nominees to fill existing vacancies.

The governor, in the letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Alfred Aondoaver Emberga explained that the move was intended to strengthen the State Executive Council and inject additional expertise and capacity into the administration.

The nominees are: Hon. Kuma Aii Yenge, Hon. Roy Ashirga Terna, Hon. Angwa Egbe Monday, Hon. Elizabeth Onma Ogenyi, Hon. Solomon Iorpev and Hon. Nick Eworo.

Alia said the nominations were made in exercise of his constitutional powers and pursuant to Section 192 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.

He consequently requested the House to give the nominees prompt and favourable consideration in accordance with its constitutional responsibility.

The submission comes as the Alia administration continued efforts to consolidate its cabinet and strengthen the machinery of government for effective service delivery across Benue State.
