Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has nominated six persons for appointment as commissioners and members of the State Executive Council.

Governor Alia submitted the names of the nominees to the Benue State House of Assembly on Tuesday for consideration and confirmation.

The nominees are expected to replace outgoing members of the State Executive Council and fill existing vacancies in the cabinet.

In a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Alfred Aondoaver Emberga, the governor said the nominations were aimed at strengthening the State Executive Council by bringing in additional expertise and capacity to support the administration.

The nominees are Hon. Kuma Aii Yenge, Hon. Roy Ashirga Terna, Hon. Angwa Egbe Monday, Hon. Elizabeth Onma Ogenyi, Hon. Solomon Iorpev and Hon. Nick Eworo.

Governor Alia said the nominations were made in exercise of his constitutional powers under Section 192 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.

He consequently urged the House of Assembly to give the nominees prompt and favourable consideration in line with its constitutional responsibilities.

The submission is part of ongoing efforts by the Alia administration to consolidate its cabinet and strengthen the machinery of government for effective service delivery across Benue State.
