Gov. Alia reiterates commitment to State Infrastructural dev’t , Inaugurates ‘Renewed Hope’ Ambassadors for 2027

​Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustaining the current surge in infrastructural development across the state.
​Governor Alia made this commitment during a strategic engagement with citizens held at the IBB Square, Makurdi, on Wednesday.
He emphasized that his government has declared an emergency on road infrastructure, maintaining that all roads in the state must be rehabilitated.
​Highlighting some of his administration’s achievements, the Governor noted that he has renovated over 564 primary schools, revamped ailing primary healthcare centers, and rehabilitated all general hospitals.
Additionally, he stated that the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) has been given a facelift with state-of-the-art facilities.
​“Things were stagnant when we assumed power; now, things are working. I am on a mission to liberate the state”, the Governor stated.
​Addressing the issue of welfare, he added, “I inherited over three years of pension arrears and have been offsetting them alongside regular salary payments.
“Between now and May, we will clear the remaining backlog of pension arrears.”
​On the security situation, the Governor noted improvements, stating, “My government is working hard to curtail insecurity in the state. People are now returning home to cultivate their farms.
“ I appreciate the security agencies for their dedication and urge the people of Benue to continue supporting them to ensure our collective safety.”
​Politically, Governor Alia revealed that he is collaborating with the National Assembly to create new State Assembly constituencies in Gboko, Konshisha, and Ukum.
​During the event, Governor Alia inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) “Renewed Hope Ambassadors” for the state, tasking them with mobilizing massive support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
​“You must create full awareness about the APC at the grassroots. Project and inform the people in your localities of what the party is doing to better their lot.
“Be good ambassadors in your local governments and take your duties seriously.
“ I urge you and all APC members to work assiduously for the re-election of President Tinubu and myself in 2027 to ensure continued development in the state”, he added.
​Former Nigerian Ambassador to Namibia and State Coordinator for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Terhemen Tarzoor, stated that both the President and the Governor have demonstrated uncommon courage in rebuilding the nation and the state, particularly in the areas of the economy, youth empowerment, and infrastructure.
​He added that they have restored public confidence in governance and, therefore, deserve re-election to continue their performance.
“Continuity is about vision. Let us all remain united in support of the President and the Governor,” the former Speaker of the State Assembly appealed.
