Gov. Badaru empowers over 150,000 youths in five years

No fewer than 15,000 Jigawa youths have so far empowered through various programmes by the present APC administration in the state.
This was announced by the state governor Alhaji Muhammed Badaru Abubakar yesterday at the flag-off of a one day capacity building workshop organised for the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) held at the Sir Ahmadu Bello Hall in Dutse that the action has also reduced crime rates across the State.
The governor who was represented by the deputy governor Mallam Umar Namadi said the present government has elevated the rate of rice production from the initial inherited of an average of 2.5 tonnes per a hectre to 6 tonnes per hectre in the state.
He said the state government had rolled out various forms of poverty alleviation programmes to ensure the continued peace being experienced in the state.
In his address, the deputy force PRO CSP Aremu Sikiru Addniran explained that one of the objectives of creating PCRC is to Forster unity amongst the police and members of the community in crime prevention.
He also said the objective include periodic organization of seminars, workshops and conferences amongst others to empower members on crime preventions, strategies and intelligence gathering.
He said PCRC is partly responssible for the scouting of capable hands into the recruitment of constables and encourage qualified members of the community to seek for a career in the Nigeria police force.
