Gov Badaru signs N152.92bn 2020 budget into law

The Jigawa State governor Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Badaru has signed the sum of N152.92 billion into law as appropriation bill for the year 2020.
The budget which was presented to the Governor by the state Commissioner of Finance, Alhaji Babangida Umar Gantsa, was signed in the presence of the deputy governor, speaker of the house, commissioners, traditional rulers, civil society organisations and other citizens.
The budget was signed a day after its passage by the state House of Assembly and recognised a little or non-adjustment before it was passed by the lawmakers.
Speaking shortly after signing the budget, the state governor, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar commended the members of the House for the speedy passage of the budget.
Governor Badaru who said, Jigawa had never witnessed a speedy passage of the budget like this year, assured that by january 1st government would continue execution of projects for the benefit of the people in the state.
He also congratulated the people of the state as Jigawa State ranked 1st in budget processing and budget transparency in the country.
Governor Badaru then prayed for the maximum implementation of the 2020 budget, as according to him the state recorded 80 percent budget performance in the last four years.
