Niger State Government has approved the immediate recruitment of 1,000 health workers and automatic replacement of all retired health workers in the state.
The state commissioner for Basic Health, Doctor Ibrahim Dangana made this known during the post exco press briefing at the government house Minna.
Dr Dangana said the aims and objectives of the administration of governor Umar Mohammed Bago is to ensure the provision of qualitative and affordable health care service across the state.
He explained that most of the challenges faced presently at the Basic health is as a result of unavailable manpower, hence he assured of the state’s determination in providing adequate antenatal care services, provide family planning as well as strengthening referrals system across all primary health care (PHC).
According to him,” a proper monitoring team will be channeled to all PHC in the state, with the aim of correcting all forms of illegalities in the sector, as well as meeting the yarning and expectations of the citizens”.
