Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state has earmarked a sum of N5 Billion for the construction of a permanent NYSC orientation camp and N200,000 (N360 million) for each of the 1,600 totaling (N360 million) Corp members newly posted to the state.
The governor made the disclosure at the official swearing in ceremony of 2024 Batch B sream 1 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the orientation camp in Paiko, saying that the welfare package is aimed at comforting them in Niger state.
He further revealed that the current camp will get additional 5 boreholes, plus additional toilets, 20 cows with one trailer load of rice containing 600 bags to be provided to ensure smooth orientation exercise.
Bago promised automatic employment for all the medical and health NYSC members serving in the state, while assuring of their security and welfare of their stay in Niger state.
The Minister of Youth Development, Dr Jamila Biu Ibrahim urged members of the NYSC to make maximum use of the service opportunities, adding that 5,000 of them are to benefit from this year’s N5 million each from the federal government entrepreneurship scheme.
