The Director General Media and Publicity to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Mr. Kingley Fanwo has refuted reports circulating in social media that his principal was hospitalised following an accident in Lokoja metropolis last week.
In a statement made available to newsmen yesterday in Lokoja, Fanwo
noted that the governor was neither hospitalised nor incapacitated.
He, however, confirmed that governor Bello missed his step sometime last week while alighting from a vehicle and injured his left foot, adding that his principal was subsequently treated by his doctors and discharged accordingly.
Fanwo further thanked all the supporters and well-wishers of the governor “who reached us to inquire after his wellbeing”, adding that His Excellency” is doing very well and would soon return to his duty post.
Before the confirmation by Mr. Fanwo, there had been rumours circulating in the state that the governor sustained various degrees of injuries, following an accident in Lokoja metropolis last week.
