Gov. Buni launches Acresal loan of $250 to 10 piloting communities in Yobe

The Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni has launched the Community Revolving Fund loan disbursement (CRF) to 10 piloting communities across the state in two micro watersheds.
The occasion was performed at the Banquet hall of Government House Damaturu.
The Governor noted that ACReSAL initiatives aren’t migrants but investment fund loans to a group of farmers that can revolve and grow over time to improve livelihood.
The Governor was represented by his Deputy Idi Barde Gubana who said that the partnership with the World Bank would foster environmental sustainability and Agricultural prosperity for the state.
“The program, according to the Governor is aligned with the commitment of his administration aimed at improving livelihood and addressing poverty in the state.
He commanded the effort of the ACReSAL task team and federal project management unit for their interest and commitment which culminated in the selection of Yobe ACReSAL to be part of the 8 Piloting states across the country to pilot the scheme.
He urged the benefiting communities to ensure the successful implementation of the CRF to realize their developmental aspirations and enhance their means of livelihood through agro-business enterprise.
He added that, the loan is based on the eligibility criteria of the project, Yobe State qualified to be part of the 19 Northern states including FCT to access the fund.
In his part, the ACReSAL project Coordinator, Alh. Shehu Mohammed, said that the loan was designed to support rural communities and farmers’ groups in undertaking investment in agriculture.
