Gov Gaidam engages 170 health personnel

Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe state has given approval for the immediate recruitment of 170 health professionals to strengthen the state’s health sector to deliver quality and affordable medical care to those in need.

A statement by Yobe state Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Dauda Yahaya said some of the health personnel to be recruited include nurses, midwives, medical records personnel, medical laboratory technicians, community health extension workers and environmental health assistants, amongst others.

Already, the statement said the office of the Head of Service, which coordinates and supervises the exercise, has commenced the process of engaging the new health personnel into the services of the state government, adding that the exercise will be a continuous one as the governor has directed that more medical personnel be recruited into the services of the state government to ensure effective healthcare delivery services, especially at the primary and secondary levels.
