Gov. Matawalle distributes 28 firefighting vehicles to LGs

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara State has launched the distribution of 28 fully equipped fire fighting vehicles to the 14 local government councils chairmen of the state.
Matawalle who said, special care should be given to communities especially at the rural areas against fire outbreaks as the harmattan season sets in, called for judicial use of the distributed firefighting vehicles.
“The 28 fire fighting vehicles were purchased at the cost of N756 million, therefore, I am directing the State Fire Brigade, to take good care of the equipment as well as respond quickly to all distress calls made to them.
“Similarly, in order to cushion the suffering of displaced Fulani and build trust and confidence in them from their respective settlements at various locations in all the 14 local government areas, the state government procured 14,000 bags of animal feeds at the cost of 49 million naira and first aid drugs at the cost of N196 million to be distributed to the displaced Fulanis”, Matawalle said.
He said, the distribution of the first aid drugs is aimed at taking care of the urgent medication needed by the displaced Fulani people, while the animal feeds are to complement the grazing pasture of the animals and discourage Fulani from rampant migration.
The Governor has commended the concerted efforts put in place by the 14 Local Government Councils’ chairmen towards realizing the objectives, calling on them to sustain the tempo as more gestures that will improve the lives of the people of the state are pipeline.
