Governor Umar Dikko Radda of Katsina state said no amount of threats can stop him from dealing with bandits.
Radda, expressed satisfaction with the successes recorded by the local security outfit in reducing the activities of bandits in his state.
He made this disclosure in an interview with journalists in Yola weekend, stressing that the ‘Katsina Community watch’ established by his government in complimenting the effort of the conventional security outfits has graciously reduced banditry attacks by 60-70% forcing them to leave the territories of his state unceremoniously.
Radda who was in Yola,the Adamawa state capital to attend the 15th graduation ceremony of class of 2024 students including his daughter in American University of Nigeria Yola said that his government based security experts advice sourced for the locals in their communities, trained and equipped them for countering the criminality being perpetrated by the bandits.
He dared the unrepentant bandits that no amount of threat or intimidation will stop his government from flushing the bad eggs out of Katsina state and it’s environs, noting that new strategies are under way to tackle the bandits approach of attacking villages close to the forest and with difficult terrains in the state.
Earlier, President of American University of Nigeria Yola, Professor Dewayne Frazier congratulated the graduating students urging them to be good ambassadors of the institution wherever they may found themselves.
Professor Frazier stated that Nigeria and Africa need great leaders with requisite skills to lead this great nation and continent as they face their many challenges.
