Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero yesterday approved the appointment of Alhaji Muhammad Rabi’u Bako, as the Amirul Hajj for 2014 Hajj operation in the state.

A statement from Director Media and Publicity to the state governor, Ahmed Maiyaki said the approval of the Amirul Hajj was conveyed in a memo signed by the Permanent Secretary, Kaduna State Bureau for Religious Affairs (Islamic Matters), Abdur-Rahman Mahmoud.

“Alhaji Rabi’u Bako who was a former Commissioner of Information in the State is to lead a team of eleven (11) members to serve as the 2014 Amirul Hajj Team from Kaduna State.

“Other members of the team are; Muhammad Inuwa Jibo, Justice Bashir Sukola, Sheikh M.T. Suleiman, Sheikh Ahmad Makari Sa’idu, Hon. Yunusa Garba Turawa, Isiyaku B. Aliyu, Abdulkadir Bello idris, Malam Shehu Muhammad, Malam Aliyu Tanko and the District Head of Gwakuru, Kagarko Chiefdom.

Governor Yero tasked the team to ensure proper and adequate welfare of all pilgrims from the State to this year’s Hajj and congratulated the Amirul Hajj Team as he urged them to see their appointment as an opportunity to serve the people of the State.
