Governor Kabir Abba Yusuf

From Mustapha Adamu, Kano

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has issued a stern warning to commissioners and special advisers in his administration against poor performance, urging them to justify the confidence placed in them through effective service delivery and dedication to governance.
The warning was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Speaking during the Hawan Nasarawa Sallah homage in Kano, Governor Yusuf said his administration would not tolerate negligence, poor performance, lack of commitment, or disloyalty from any political appointee.
He stressed that accountability and measurable results remain key principles of his government and called on members of the State Executive Council and political aides to rededicate themselves to serving the people and advancing the administration’s development agenda.
According to the governor, any appointee who fails to meet expectations should either improve their performance or be prepared to leave office.
Governor Yusuf, however, singled out the Commissioner for Environment, Dahir Hashim, for special praise, describing him as an innovative and hardworking leader despite being the youngest commissioner in the state cabinet.
He commended Dr. Hashim’s commitment, creativity, and outstanding performance, particularly in promoting government activities and strengthening communication between the administration and the public.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to rewarding dedication, competence, and excellence in public service.
