Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has commiserated with the leadership of the Nigeria  Union of Teachers (NUT), over the demise  of the State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Rodney Nathan.

Late Nathan died on Tuesday at a private  hospital in Jos, Plateau state after an illness.

Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou disclosed the development through a press statement issued in Yola Wednesday commiserating with the family and associates of late Nathan.

Governor Fintiri described the late Chairman as a successful administrator and educationist, who got to the top by hard work.

“Rodney Nathan would be remembered for his exemplary lifestyle. He was a man who demonstrated great commitment to the service of the Union and the new thinking of our administration towards the growth and development of the education sector as reflected in the various leadership roles he played in the promotion of cordial working relationship and revamping of education in Adamawa State”.

The Governor described the late NUT Chair as a decent and diligent unionist, saying his death was a major loss not only to his family, the Bwatiye race, the Teachers Union in the North, but also the entire State.
