The swearing-in ceremony for the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course took place at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp at Government College, Kaduna.
The event was honored by the presence of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, who delivered an inspiring address to the prospective corps members.
Governor Sani urged the youth to embody the values of service, patriotism, and selflessness that the NYSC scheme represents. He emphasized that the service year is not only an opportunity to serve their country but also a chance to learn, grow, and develop personally.
The Governor encouraged the corps members to take full advantage of the various programs and initiatives provided by the NYSC, which are designed to equip them with the necessary tools for success.
He urged them to become ambassadors of peace, unity, and development, reflecting the ideals of the NYSC throughout their service year.
He assured the corps members that the Kaduna State Government is committed to ensuring their safety and welfare, prioritizing their well-being above all else.
The Governor also encouraged the corps members to consider staying in Kaduna State for their national service, highlighting the numerous opportunities for growth and development available within the state.
In her address, Mrs. Efeke Murna Dadaza, the NYSC Coordinator for Kaduna State, welcomed the prospective corps members to Kaduna and commended them for responding to the call of national service.
She detailed the comprehensive program prepared for the corps members, which includes military drills, citizenship and leadership training, language studies, sports, and social activities.
The NYSC Coordinator also discussed some of the challenges facing the scheme in Kaduna State, including the lack of a Permanent Orientation Venue, the absence of a Governing Board, inadequate facilities in the Temporary Camp, a dilapidated ambulance, and insufficient support for corps member welfare.
The ceremony marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the prospective corps members, who are eager to embark on their national service journey. With the Governor’s inspiring address and the NYSC Coordinator’s warm welcome, they are ready to make a positive impact in their communities and contribute to the development of Kaduna State.
