Foremost Nigeria grassroots football development icon, Mr Miri Tinwan Nyantau will on Thursday July 8 receive award of excellence for his developmental strides in promoting football at the local level.
Popularly called “MTN”, Mr Nyantau has been at the core of grassroots football programmes in the Plateau State.
For instance, he has personally sponsored and organised for almost a decade, the prestigious Miri Timnan Nyantau (MTN) Peace and Unity Football Competition.
Since 2013, the Miri Timnan Nyantau (MTN) Peace and Unity Football Competition has produced talented footballers for the various clubs in the state and Nigeria at large.
The competition has been described in various fora and radio/television sports programmes as the “most rewarding individually sponsored football tournament in Plateau State”
Apart from that, he is also contributing in no small measure in the development of the new but exciting Teqball (football-tennis) in the state.
It is no doubt, a beffiting honour and an auspicious moment as Mr MTN will on Thursday be honoured, among other recipients, by the Plateau State Football Association, PFA in this regard.
Expectedly, as the saying goes, the reward for great work is more work and it is believed that the award we serve as catalyst for Mr MTN to explore greater horizons in discovering and promoting budding talents in the Home of Peace and Tourism state.
