Following the incessant killings in some parts of the southern Senatorial District of Nasarawa State, the Ag President of Eggon Cultural Development Association (ECDA), Honourable Usman Offor, has appealled to President Goodluck Jonathan to intervene in order to bring an end to this ugly crisis in the state.
Honourable Offor, made the plea yesterday in Lafia, the State Capital, while answering questions from newsmen.
According to him “the President is the last hope to this skirmishes that has ravaged our communities in the State and we have sat down and forwarded our problems before the Presidency so as to bring a lasting remedy to this lingering crisis we found ourselves.”
The Ag. President further accused the Eggon political leaders for their inability to contribute their quotas towards ending the situation.
According to him, “Our political leaders are not helping matters. They are not helping matters at all and their actions are below expectation.”
He also expressed dissatisfaction and concern over the current political problems confronting the Eggon nation; urging them to embrace dialogue.
“When I came in as the Acting President, I met numerous challenges and I am trying to find ways to address them squarely for the interest of peace and development of Eggon nation, State and the country at large”, he said.
He however called on the State government and the security operatives to strive and ensure that peace is restore in the affected areas.
