Group disowns slain suspected cultist in Edo

The Coordinator, Edo State Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV) Mukhter Yusuf-Osagie yesterday said no member of the group was involved in recent cult related deaths in the State.
He said in a statement in Benin City, the State Capital, that PUWOV neither adhoc – staff nor any of its members that was killed in the battle for supremacy cult groups.
Residents of Benin City last week were gripped with fear following the killings of persons in some parts of the State in a renewed clash of rival cult groups.
Recall that the State police Command had on Tuesday paraded no fewer than 72 suspects over crime related issues involving armed robbery, cultism and kidnapping.
The State commissioner of police, Mr. Johnson Kokomo said 58 cult members linked to the recent killings of eight persons in different location in the state were among those paraded
