Group endorses Umeh for second term in Senate

Nigerians for Democratic Action (NDA) has endorsed the Anambra Central Senator, Victor Umeh, for a second term in the Senate, in the 2019 general elections.
In a statement issued in Abuja by the National Publicity Secretary of the NDA, Ndukwe Kalu, the group said it reached this decision after its annual Congress on Tuesday, in Abuja, where it endorsed the candidature of Victor Umeh for Senate in the 2019 general elections.
NDA further said it chose to endorse Umeh for a second term because of his outstanding features as an embodiment of patriotism, a detribalized compatriot with abundant milk of human kindness, which he generously dispensed particularly to the less privileged he gives annual scholarship.
“His impressive performance in the Senate since January 2018 he assumed legislative duties after tortuous post-election litigations shows that he is indeed, a man of the people.
“Nigerians for Democratic Action overwhelmingly adopt him as the candidate to represent Anambra Central Senatorial District in the Red chamber. Accordingly, all members of our esteemed Group and lovers of representative governance in Nigeria should work for his reelection to the Senate.
“A man of courage and vision, Senator Umeh has sponsored and co-sponsored laudable people-oriented motions including: The Urgent Need to include the Eastern Rail lines in the Nigerian Railway Development Project”, “Illegal Confinement of Underage Offenders and Infants in the same Prison with Adult Prisoners”, Co-sponsor with Senator Stella Odua (Anambra North, APGA) the “Federal University of Education Aguleri, Anambra State (EST, etc) Bill 2018 (SB, 653)”, etc.
NDA commended Umeh’s performance in the Senate so far, and expressed the believe that he will do more if he is reelected to the Upper Chamber, just as it added that he has provided the desired synergy needed by the Anambra State government, controlled by APGA to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of the State.
“NDA enjoins the good people of Anambra Central Senatorial Zone to vote for continuity and return Umeh to the Senate in 2019. He is competent and has in many ways enriched the nation’s democratic process.
“NDA also calls on eligible Nigerians to obtain their voter cards and ensure they vote for candidates of their choice in all elections. All votes must be counted and count in the overall results as sovereignty resides in the people.
“We welcome INEC’s decision to ban smart phones at polling booths across the country. This will eliminate the obnoxious vote buying and selling syndrome”, the statement said.
