A political pressure group, Youths for Jonathan Transformation Continuity (YJTC) has commended the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed for his commitment to the development of the FCT through faithful implementation of the President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda.

The youths, who at the weekend trouped out in their hundreds to demonstrate their solidarity for the present administration, expressed their eagerness to witness President Jonathan’s formal declaration for next year’s presidential election.

The National Coordinator of the association, Prince Afoke Okporua while addressing the mammoth crowd in front of the Area 11 office of the FCT Minister, pointed out that they were out on the street to demonstrate their belief in the transformation agenda.

He gave example of some of the people-centred programmes of the Jonathan administration to include the multi-billion dollar investment and infrastructure projects in FCT, the Almajiri School programme, SURE-P, the railway projects and the aviation sector reform among others.

They carried several placards to convey their message to the people, some of which read: “Who Built Almajiri Schools?” “GEJ and Bala, Keep Transformation Nigeria,” “Bala Mohammed, Symbol of Transformation,” “We Love SURE-P Graduate Internship Scheme,” “GEJ For 2015,” “Bala Mohammed, Nigeria Youths Want GEJ,” “Northeast Youths For Transformation Agenda,” “Youths Ask For Goodluck,” “Muslim Youths and Christian Youths Want Transformation Agenda to Continue,” “Northeast Youth For Transformation Continuity”.

Responding, the Minister of FCT, Senator Bala Mohammed, represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Administration, Chief Emma Awodu, promised to relay the group’s message to the President through the FCT Minister.

He urged them not to relent in their support of the Transformation agenda as well as the FCT Administration, stressing that they would be vindicated.
