Group hands over PPE worth N11.9m to Kaduna govt

A Kaduna-based group under the auspices of, Legal Awareness for Nigerian Women (LANW), in partnership with Christian Aid Nigeria with support from UKAID yesterday handed over array of personal protective equipment (PPE) worth N11.9million to the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KADPHCDA) to check the spread of COVID-19.
The items included 754 packs latex examination hand gloves (100 per pack), 400 packs nose mask – NGS white colour (10 per pack), 400 cartons of alcohol-based hand sanitizers (500ML), 400 cartons liquid soaps, 100 non-contact head infrared thermometers and 40 units of 25Litres chlorine.
Handing over the inventory note to an official of the Agency in Kaduna, Executive Director, LANW, Rebecca Sako-John, said the development was part of the implementation of COVID-19 Nigerian Afghanistan Localised Preparedness and Emergency Response (C19NALPER) project in Kaduna State.
According to her, the KADPHCDA is expected to distribute the items to its health facilities in the 23 local government areas of the state to check community transmission of COVID-19.
“These PPE are for your unit to distribute for further prevention of COVID-19 in Kaduna State.
“We hope it will be put to judicious use and will translate in a further decline in COVID-19 cases in Kaduna state”, she said.
