A group of women in partnership with Igraa Academy has organised an educational get-together event, to help amplify advocacy against happenings especially as it affects children and women, in Gaza conflict zone , a Palestine territory in the middle east.

At the event tagged: A Journey Through Palestine, presented by the children of the Iqraa Academy, facilitated by the proprietor, Mrs. Ahlaam Musa, guests and participants were educated about the story in Palestine.

For Kokab Farrukh, a Palestine, who has been living in Nigeria for 21 years, after October 7, many hearts bleed and have continued bleeding as thousands of children and women are dieing.

Farrukh, who is CEO K&F Enterprise, said they really want to do something for the Palestinian children, but in the meantime they are praying to Allah send help to those in the conflict zone

She explains: “It is just to convey the message that blood shed war is not the answer for anything, come to the round table and talk. Why should innocent blood be shed on the ground .

“So, it is just awareness campaign that children belong to everybody, it could be anybody’s child. And a child is a child anywhere, so it is a humanitarian cause, and not a religious cause.

Similarly, a Nigerian, Hauwa Yasmeen Ismaila, who described the event, as a form of protest against the deadly conflict, talked about boycotting Israeli items because people are indirectly sponsoring the ‘genocide’ by Israel.

Ismaila, of the Meen Elegante` Ejabah foundation, decried that hospitals are bombed, and war crime is happening right in front of everyone , and all chose to keep quiet because apparently its not their business.

“This is our own form of protest where we boycott, so many Israeli products, so as to avoid the sponsorship of this war. We, here I mean Nigerians worldwide, it is an international thing, and they (Israelis) are lossing millions of dollars.

“All around the world, products are being boycotted to prevent the sponsorship of this war in Gaza. There are thousands of troops and army marching and fighting. Who are you fighting? The children that are unprotected without an air force or navy. Or are you fighting the government of Palestinian. Gaza has always been a strategic location in the area.

“Well, we have now made it our business, as it is a matter of humanity. Apathy, genocide, displacement, destruction of homes and death of babies. Thousands of people forced to leave and migrate from their homes. This is unacceptable.

“Recently, a cease fire vote was taken, but should there even be a vote when it comes to the lives of children? And there be a vote for deaths?

“We have to start producing our own product, so that we can have our own economic independence when it to issue like this. We can’t keep on indirectly sponsoring the war, buying guns and bullets, because we decided to patronise some of the Israeli products.”
