A group under the auspices of Kagarko Concerned Citizens for Transparency has petitioned the Speaker, Kaduna State House of Assembly (KDHA) over the squandermania attitude of the suspended chairman of the local government, Hon. Rabo Nasara which has led to the LGA bleeding profusely from corruption.
The letter, signed by Abubakar Barde Awafa, and Waziri Gaya, Chairman, Secretary respectively, stated that as stakeholders in the Kagarko LGA and on behalf of members in the interest of transparency, the survival of democracy, the development of the local government and the urgent need to save the continued haemorrhage of the lean resources of the good people of Kagarko LGA from the crass, primitive, irredeemable, kleptomania and squandermania leadership style of Hon. Rabo Nasara, urged the speaker to intervene to save the LGA.
The group alleged that Hon. Rabo Nasara had lost the trust and confidence of the majority of the people of Kagarko Local Government Area, which demanded his immediate removal as Chairman.
They further alleged that the squandermania attitude of the chairman has led to multi-million Naira contract inflations, fraudulent and multiple payments on many uncompleted projects scattered across the 10 Wards of Kagarko LGA. They stated that his return to office would cause further injuries to the local government.
“Rabo Nasara has not been deducting retention fees for the capital projects he has executed, which we all know is contrary to the Financial Memorandum and consequently, a corrupt way of depriving our local government from gaining revenue internally.
“Hon. Nasara Rabo has been in the business of executing Direct Labour far above the approved N500,000 limit for local government Chairmen and he does so without clearance from the Kaduna State Public Procurement Authority or the Ministry for Local Government Affairs.”
