As the primaries of political parties get closer, a group under the auspices of Concern Youths Forum in Niger State, has raised an alarm over alleged plans to induce Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates during its governorship primary in the state.
In a statement issued in Minna at the weekend, which was signed by the group’s leader, Mohammed Bello, urged delegates to be patriotic and responsible in choosing a credible candidate that can fly the flag of the party in the state.
Bello said that it would be disastrous if the party failed to make a good choice that can lead the party to glorious general elections come 2019 in the state.
The statement “the current political assessments in Niger state indicated that only Alhaji Aminu Mohammed Baka as the leading aspirant and preferred by the masses, as he is the only person who can rescue and reposition the state from the present quagmire”.
He advised that the delegates for the forthcoming governorship primary should not hesitate to collect money from the money bag sponsored politicians, who are the aspirants planning to use their resources (funds) to influence them, but urged them that they should rather vote for their conscience.
The group further explained that this is the only way they could show their patriotism, adding that, “whoever brings you money during the forthcoming governorship primary in Niger State, collect them and vote for your conscience and credible aspirant who will save the state from its backwardness”, he stated.
