A pro-democracy group, Partnership for Democratic Awareness and Good Governance, has called for a review of circumstances surrounding the recent exit of former Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa.

Dangiwa and the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, were reported to have left the Federal Executive Council earlier in the week following a viral announcement of their replacements. However, the Presidency subsequently clarified that both officials resigned from their positions.

Reacting, the group expressed concern over the development, suggesting that the situation deserved closer scrutiny in the public interest.

In a statement, P4DAGG urged President Bola Tinubu to direct relevant agencies to examine issues surrounding the development, noting that transparency would help sustain public confidence.

The group also called for caution among political actors, stressing the need to avoid actions capable of undermining governance and public trust, particularly ahead of future electoral cycles.

It added that maintaining accountability and due process would strengthen the administration’s anti-corruption stance and preserve support across key regions.
