Group said 926,657 women, girls benefit from initiatives

A group under the auspice of the Empowering Women for Excellence Initiative (EWEI) said a total of 926,657 women and girls have benefited from its programs as at 2023.
The Founder and Programme Director of EWEI SafiyaIbn Garba DTRF stated this in a statement marking the 16th anniversary of the organization in Kaduna yesterday.
She explained that some of the projects beneficiaries enjoyed are providing girls and women training and information on gender-based violence, income-generating skills, and social entrepreneurship.
“We provided educational subsidies to increase the enrollment, retention, and completion rates of girls in public secondary schools.
“We gave women the skills to engage with community leaders on community-identified needs and building their capacity for increased civic engagement.
“We are working with partners and Government institutions to promote grassroots peacebuilding and conflict transformation.
SafiyaIbn Garba extended the organization’s heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support, dedication, and partnership throughout this the remarkable journey of empowerment.
