Group tasks FG on completion of Karshi by-passThe Nyanya/Karu Peoples’ Forum, a community association in the suburb of Abuja, has urged the Federal Government to complete the Karishi by-pass without delay.

Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi, Secretary-General of the association, made the remark yesterday in Abuja in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said that the delay in completing the project had exposed residents of the area to untold traffic hardship.

He said that residents of the area had over the years shown understanding with the government over infrastructure deficit.

He expressed concern that the continued neglect of the by-pass might further expose the residents to the inconvenience of traffic jam.

“The Nyanya/Karu axis is very strategic because of it links many adjoining communities and states.

“The recent terrorist attacks at the Nyanya Park may have been averted if there are link roads,’’ he said.

On the insecurity in the country, the Secretary-General expressed delight with the insistence of the government to continue with the execution of development projects despite the challenges posed by the Boko Haram insurgents. (NAN)
