Group to engage 150 teachers in HIV education in Kaduna

A Group under the auspices of Kids & Teens Resource Centre in collaboration with UNESCO is  engaging 150 teachers in its Family Life HIV Education, (FLHE) for out of schools children in Kaduna state.

The Chief Executive Officer of Kids & Teens Resource Centre, Falana Martin-Mary, disclosed this at a one-day stakeholders’ meeting held in Kaduna yesterday.

According to him, the 150 teachers will be responsible for the first phase of the project which will deal with in-schools students; while 50 NYSC members will be engaged with out-of-schools children.

Martin-Mary explained that “the adolescents in Nigeria today are facing serious health challenges which include; unwanted and unplanned pregnancy, unsafe abortion, engaging multiple sexual partnerships, sexual transmission infections.”
