Youth Global Vision for Peace in Africa (YGV) in collaboration with the Association of Northern Nigerian Students (ANNS), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari, to increase the number of ongoing nationwide police recruitment from 6,000 to 10,000 considering the existing security challenge in the country.
The Regional Coordinator of YGV and Senate President of ANNS, Ambassodor Yahaya Salisu and Adamu Adamu Matazu, made the appeal while presenting an award of excellence to President Buhari and Jigawa state governor, Mohammadu Badaru Abubakar, in Dutse; during the two days official visit of the president to the state.
He explained that the president nomination for the award was purely on merit, considering his giant stride in the agricultural sector in which at present, the country is. heading to 100 percent zero importation of rice as it had already attained 90 percent of such.
The group maintained that, the fertilizer distribution policy introduce by the federal government in which the jigawa state governor is the chairman of the committee has broken the fertilizer monopoly and buying of fertilizer at exorbitant prices by the peasant farmers now became history.
In his response, Governor Badaru, charged the youth to take after President Buhari in terms of honesty, integrity and patriotism saying, these were the virtues needed in the Nigerian youth, who were the future leaders of the country.
