A development partners known as GlaxiSmithKline and Save the Children International, said Jigawa state will be rated as best on the implementation of National Pneumonia Control Strategy and national oxygen policy in Nigeria.
This was announced by Chief of Party, INSPIRING project Dr Adamu Isah while making his presentation during a two day round-table discussion on role of media in tackling childhood pneumonia in Nigeria.
Dr Isah who commended Jigawa state governor Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Badaru for giving all the necessary support and cooperation, said kJigawa has gone far more than any other state on the implementation of National oxygen policy.
According to him, Save the Children with support from Jigawa government recorded a huge success in fight against five child killer disease in the state including pneumonia as major causes.He identified the killer diseases of under five, as pneumonia, diarrhea, Sepsis, malaria and measles.
