Government Secondary School Bwari (GSS) has emerged the winner of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) 2023 Talent Hunt Competition for the Federal Capital Territory Secondary Schools.
Government Secondary School Kubwa came second, while Government secondary school Tunga Maji,Abuja took the third position.
The 1st Position got N250,000 scholarship plus Plaque and Trophy (to the School) while 2nd Position,N150,000 Scholarship plus Plaque and Trophy (to the School) 3rd Position, N100,000 scholarship plus plaque plus trophy (to the School).
In his welcome remarks,the Chairman NSE Abuja branch,Engr Ben Osy Okoh said in the pursuit of this mission,the association in Abuja considered it expedient to organised the first edition in 2023 to offer students the opportunity to discover their limitless potential.
Also to improve their creativity, increase their team collaboration,develop their communication skills, improve their critical thinking skills and boost their team curiosity, utilizing the power of STEM, especially in the COVID 19 era.
He appealed to the student to outcome th competition saying that the result shouldn’t deter any of you but should be spring board to discovering your potential.
The chairman of the occasion, National President of the NSE, Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, said
“As we celebrate the talents and potential of our children here today, let us reaffirm our collective resolve to invest in their education.
“Together, we can build a brighter future for Nigeria, where innovation thrives and engineering excellence propels us towards prosperity and progress.
She said what is happening here is today is is a testament to our commitment to fostering excellence and innovation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.
“Your participation in this competition not only demonstrates your aptitude for problem-solving but also reflects the potentials that will make you future leaders and trailblazers in the field of engineering.
I urge you to embrace this opportunity to learn, grow and collaborate with your peers. Let your curiosity guide you, let your resilience strengthen you and let your dreams inspire you to reach new heights of achievement.
Remember, the journey towards success may be challenging but with determination, perseverance and a thirst for knowledge, you can overcome any obstacle and achieve greatness.
