Gunmen invade homes, kidnap pastor’s wife, daughters in Kuje

Three persons were yesterday abducted by unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers invading and carting away with people, for the umpteenth time, in Pegi, Kuje Area Council, of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
It was gathered that a mother and two of her daughters were abducted from their home during the latest incident that occurred late Saturday into the early hours of Sunday morning.
Confirming the development, Chairman of Pegi Community Development Association (PECDA), Taiwo Aderibigbe, revealed that the invasion occured around 11:15pm Saturday, in zone A hill-top area, of Pegi Resettlement.
He identified the victims as Mrs. Oladapo Bukola 45 years old, Miss Oladapo Glory, 17-year-old, and Miss Oladapo Moyo,14-year-old, all wife and daughters of one Pastor Gabriel Oladapo, who was not around during the invasion.
Aderibigbe, who spoke with the media via the phone, disclosed that the kidnappers jumped their fence and broke the lock of their burglary door and gained access to the house and kidnapped
According to him, the husband and father of the victims, Pastor Gabriel Oladapo, was out of town, while the incident occured.
Furthermore, the PECDA Chairman lamented the incidents of kidnapping in the area, which according was becoming too rampant and frequent .
He therefore urged the security agencies in the area to come to the rescue of the residents, who are living in perpetual fear because nobody knows who is next.
“At about 11:15 pm I got a call from one the zonal leader of the community, that assailants have invaded the premises of Pastor Gabriel Oladapo and abducted his wife and two children.
“It is quite worrisome, that Pegi, Kuje, is being targeted by kidnappers and security agencies are not doing much.
“It is worrisome that the kidnap incidence ravaging our community is yet to be crushed by the tactical and professional security personnel. We are calling on all and sundry to come to our aid”, he stressed.
When contacted, the FCT Police Command’s Acting Police Public Relations Officer,
Asp Daniel Y Ndirpaya, assured that efforts are being made by the command to ensure the victims are rescued.
However, as of the time of filling this report, it was learnt that the unknown kidnappers are yet to establish any kind of communication with the victims’ family.
