Niger state police command has confirmed the killing of a lecturer Dr. Mrs Funmilola Afefolola Sherifat of the Federal University of Technology, in her Gbaiko residence of Minna.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO DSP Wasiu Abiodun in Minna.

According to Aboidun, “some friends of one Dr. Mrs. Funmilola Adefolalu Sherifat a lecturer at FUT Minna visited her residence in Gbaiko Area due to inability to get her on phone.”

He added that “Unfortunately, on getting to the house, the visitors met her lying in the pool of blood with marks of injury on her body.

Two knives with blood stains suspected to have been used to stab her by unknown person(s) were recovered from the scene, adding that the incident is under investigation.

It was reliably gathered that the late lecturer was found in her pool of blood slaughtered in her residence in the Gbaiko Area of Minna.

The chairperson of the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) in the school, Professor Gbolahan Bolarin also confirmed that her body was discovered on Sunday morning when her church members traced her home after she was not seen during service.
