Gunmen kill two policemen in Bauchi

Gunmen yesterday killed two policemen at a Chinese company, Magama Gumau, in  Toro local government area of Bauchi state.

It was gathered the gunmen attacked the Chinese company, and killed two policemen on guard  and took away their rifles.

A source, who is a resident of  Magama Gumau, who doesn’t want his name in print, said, “There were  attacks on a Chinese company that left two police officers  killed  and the  suspected gunmen left with their arms “ he said.

A security source revealed that  “after they shot their victims to death, the suspects took away their guns and escaped to an unknown destination”.

The Bauchi state Police Command’s  Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Haruna confirmed the incident. Saying, “I heard of it, but I am yet to get the details. As soon as I do so, I will let you know about the true situation and any other development.

An eyewitness, who is a  resident at Magama Gumau, Malam Dauda Yake told our correspondent that, with the increase of insecurity in the area, people no longer sleep with their eyes closed and expressed the fear that after the gunmen finish killing security personnel in the area their next target will be civilians.

He therefore, called on both state and federal government to come to their rescue, to avoid replica of the Maiduguri’s current insurgency crisis.

It could be recalled that the state recorded three attacks on security personnel and their camps, which  killed over six military and police personnel.
