The Etsu (Chief) Gupa I, in Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Aliyu Musa Sokodabo has appealed to the entire Abawa in the FCT and Niger State, to continue embracing and promoting peace for the overall development of Abawa community.
Sokodabo made the appeal on Saturday, when he turbaned some Abawa personalities in Abaji for their selfless services to Abawa community.
In an interview during the coronation ceremony, he also urged Abawa speaking tribe to deem it necessary to relate with other tribes such as Nupe, Kakanda and Jibo among others for the sake of unity and togetherness.
He assured that his leadership would continue to carry every tribe along irrespective of their religious, tribal and political affiliations, and called on the parents to send their children to school.
Speaking on the 2026 FCT Area Councils’ election, the Etsu Gupa I, urged his people to vote for the candidates of their choice, warning the youths against thuggery during the election.
Some of the personalities turbaned by Etsu Sokodabo included Alhaji Adamu Bello Gupa, Alhaji Zakari A. Yelwa Madamin Gupa in Abaji; Abdulkareem Musa Sokodabo; Marafan Gupa in Abaji and Alhaji Dr. Bilyaminu Musa
Sokodabo, the Garkuwa Gupa in Abaji among others.
In his response, Bello Gupa, the President of ANCOPSS in the FCT, who was turbaned as Wambai Gupa in Abaji, thanked Etsu Sokodobo for the honour done to him and others.
